Smart Meters
The CPS smart meter installations were started in January 2011 and will send meter readings every 15 minutes to CPS so that CPS will know what your peak power is to establish higher prices relative to how high your peak is. Dallas and Houston have had these and as they record your daily peak, they can charge you more, naturally resulting in higher utility bills! Of course, if your meter runs at a constant rate, your bill would not be very bad but, Dallas and Houston have seen several increases.
